Responsibility
The Project Coordinator will be responsible to the Project Manager and undertake the coordination and of recruitment and deployment of World Health Organization Consultants across African countries in response to requests through WHO/AFRO.
The successful candidate will oversee the process of managing and updating the consultants’ database, prepare and manage a schedule, timeliness and meet deadlines, monitor and prepare weekly summaries of progress of project for updating Project Leadership and WHO/AFRO.
The successful candidate will work to ensure deliverables as requirements in the scope and deliverables coordinate with relevant departments to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible and the consultants hired meet WHO expectations.
The Project Coordinator will be expected to perform a variety of tasks with multiple reporting requiring health diplomatic skills, understand multiple country travel, visa and work permit requirements for consultants’ deployment.
Project Coordinator Responsibilities:
Coordinate internal processes, resources, WHO and multiple country requests and needs for the flawless execution of recruitment and rapid deployment of multiple consultants.
Ensure that all recruitments and deployments are undertaken and delivered on-time, within scope and with adequate logistical, per diem and other monetary support.
Assist in the review of progress against the scope and objectives, involving all relevant internal departments and WHO/AFRO and ensuring feasibility of agree next steps.
Ensure resource availability and allocation for the relevant country consultant recruited and deployed with rapid response.
Develop a detailed plan to monitor and track progress on recruitment and deployment of consultants.
Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
Support and provide adequate guidance and information to the Project Assistant on travel plans, and arrangements, expenses and reimbursements, insurance, visa etc.
Profile by Country and perform risk management to minimize potential risks for consultants and escalate as necessary.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Project Lead and WHO/AFRO Point of Contact Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs.
Project Coordinator Requirements:
- 3- 5 years of proven working experience in project coordination
- Team management and monitoring
- Performance management and processing performance-based remuneration
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Sound organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
- Computer competency in use of all Microsoft Office
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant field of study,
- Experience with project management software tools.
