Position: F&B Regional Sales Manager - French Speaking West Africa
Location: West Africa (Ivory Coast, Senegal)
Company Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven professional to join our team as a Regional Sales Manager for French Speaking countries in West Africa. This role is crucial for driving sales and profitability in high-potential geographies, managing distributor relationships, and penetrating new markets.
Job Summary: The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for sales and profitability in French Speaking countries in West Africa. Reporting to the F&B Export Sales Manager, who oversees all English and French speaking African countries where the company has no direct entity or business, this role involves managing distributor relationships, developing strategic work plans, and achieving ambitious growth targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage sales and profitability for French Speaking countries in West Africa.
- Report to the F&B Export Sales Manager.
- Manage distributor relationships, including annual turnover, sales forecast, inventory planning, and new product penetration.
- Penetrate new customers across different West African countries to achieve growth.
- Develop strategic work plans for sales and service/consultation calls with new and existing customers.
- Build a solid understanding of company products, plant operations, customer business objectives, and applicable government regulations.
- Implement and report the Total Value Delivered (TVD) to existing customers.
- Prepare and deliver sales presentations on company innovative products, equipment, and services.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of customer and distributor stakeholders; build strong business relationships and networks.
- Manage products and equipment; participate in equipment installations, observe and test equipment and product performance, track chemical consumption, monitor product inventory, and place orders.
- Actively assist the field team of distributors, providing technical support and encouraging technicians to identify and submit leads.
- Hold regular meetings to brief the F&B Export Sales Manager and promote teamwork.
- Accompany and assess staff in the field periodically to ensure objectives are met and identify training needs.
- Deal effectively and speedily with customer complaints and account issues.
- Travel required to different countries within West Africa (approx. 50% of total working hours).
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Proven experience in sales and managing distributor relationships.
- Strong understanding of the West African market, particularly French Speaking countries.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop and implement strategic work plans.
- Experience in preparing and delivering sales presentations.
- Technical knowledge of products and equipment management.
- Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time within West Africa.
- Fluency in French and English is required.
