We are seeking a Metrology Specialist to join IQVIA Laboratories in Durham, NC.

As a Metrology Specialist, you will be responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled qualifications, calibration, preventative maintenance, and repair tasks in support of typical analytical and process instrumentation used in the laboratory.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Installing and qualifying new equipment, instrumentation, and controlling software according to standard operating procedures.
  • Performing preventative maintenance on analytical instruments and coordinating necessary maintenance with external vendors.
  • Maintaining life cycle documentation of equipment and instrumentation in accordance with applicable SOPs.
  • Calibrating and verifying validated instrumentation according to SOP requirements, including appropriate documentation.
  • Troubleshooting equipment and instrumentation, identifying new equipment needs, and coordinating procurement efforts.
  • Efficiently repairing or coordinating repair of disabled analytical instruments and laboratory equipment to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Validating instrument software in collaboration with external vendors and internal IT.
  • Establishing and updating Preventative Maintenance (PM) programs for analytical instruments and laboratory equipment.

What we are looking for:

  • Associate's Degree in electronics or mechanical technology or a closely related field.
  • 1 year of experience in a laboratory environment.
  • Hands-on experience in calibration and repair of measuring and test equipment.
  • Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office, and Excel.
  • Or other equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $55,500.00 - $92,500.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
