We are seeking a Director, Laboratory Operations, Bioanalytical to join IQVIA Laboratories business in Indianapolis, IN.

You will be responsible for the operation, leadership, direction, and administration of laboratory testing in accordance with applicable governing clinical laboratories. You will also be partnering with executive and global leadership to establish strategy and ensuring implementation to drive achievement of annual objectives and supporting long-term success.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Overseeing the overall operations of the clinical testing function of the laboratory organization, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Ensuring global consistency and strategic/operational alignment in local lab operations.
  • Collaborating with Quality Assurance staff to develop and implement effective programs, and monitoring outside proficiency testing programs.
  • Establishing and implementing staff selection and training programs to ensure continuous education on testing procedures.
  • Ensuring laboratory staff comply with safety procedures and that the physical laboratory environment meets safety requirements.
  • Participating in the development and implementation of the department’s operating budget, establishing standards for cost control and waste reduction.
  • Leading continuous improvement initiatives to increase quality of services and operational efficiency.
  • Resolving escalated and complex challenges with clients on sample logistics, stability, and test results.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, medical laboratory technology, or cytotechnology. Other equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Typically requires >12 years of experience in a regulated environment.
  • 5 years of line management experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of clinical testing procedures and applicable laboratory testing regulations.

  • Strong client management and problem resolution skills.
  • Effective mentoring and coaching abilities.
  • Ability to motivate a team to achieve shared goals within performance standards and budget.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $134,400.00 - $249,600.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
