We are seeking a Principal Scientist, Biotransformation to join IQVIA Laboratories business in Indianapolis, IN.

As a Principal Scientist, you will be overseeing, guiding, performing, and interpreting in vitro and in vivo biotransformation studies in collaboration with junior-level staff. You will be managing study execution as it relates to timelines, data quality, and interpretation of results. You will also be establishing relationships with clients regarding metabolism data and concepts, and providing direction to a designated group of Metabolism scientists to ensure projects are resourced appropriately and employees are trained to meet project needs.
What you’ll be doing:
- Serving as a technical expert in metID concepts, including study design, conduct, and interpretation.
- Overseeing or performing tasks associated with in vitro and in vivo metID studies.
- Designing, interpreting, implementing, documenting, reporting, and overseeing metID study packages in collaboration with junior-level staff.
- Troubleshooting and/or consulting on more complex metID packages.
- Interpreting MS/MS data and assigning metabolite structures.
- Mentoring staff on metabolite assignments.
- Consulting with clients, site personnel, external Quintiles divisions, and/or third-party vendors on scientific issues/packages.
- Managing allocation of Metabolism resources, including project assignment and capacity management.
What We Are Looking For:
- Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry, or biology or related field required OR
- Master’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or biology or related field required OR
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5 years’ relevant experience required.
- Other Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities needed for this role:
- In-depth knowledge of drug metabolism processes, including analytical method development, metabolite profiling, metabolic processes, and structural determination.
- Proficiency with MS instrumentation (MS and MS/MS data collection and basic interpretation).
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, management, and clients.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $113,000.00 - $209,800.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time).
