We are seeking an Associate Scientist to join IQVIA Laboratories business at Indianapolis, IN.

Job Summary:

Perform routine analysis and laboratory testing procedures to obtain data from pre-clinical and/or clinical specimens. Provide routine documentation and review of work performed in a timely manner.

What You’ll be Doing:

  • Perform and document analytical procedures in accordance with methods and regulatory guidelines.
  • Assess whether analytical procedures are proceeding according to expectations and ensure results are within acceptable tolerances through routine data analysis.
  • Identify abnormal progress of analytical procedures, potential quality failures, or unusual results and escalate to senior lab personnel immediately.
  • Prepare data analysis results for upload to LIMS system under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Prepare buffers and solutions for analysis, as required.
  • Assist in writing laboratory procedures and techniques.
  • Train junior staff and assist with onboarding.
  • Perform and document calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment as assigned.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline plus 6 months experience, or Associates plus 2 years equivalent; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Basic knowledge of assigned technical area, systems, and procedures obtained through prior work experience.
  • Understanding of functional area and responsibilities.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory agency standards within the area of responsibility.
  • Other equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.

The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed for This Role:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, close eye work requirement (computer, typing, reading small prints). Physical demands vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. Occasional exposure to cold temperatures.
  • Proficiency with pipetting.
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety and infection control procedures and practices including standard precautions and hazardous chemical handling.
  • Experience working with automation or specialized laboratory equipment.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $70,700.00 - $117,800.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
