Job description
We are seeking an Associate Scientist to join IQVIA Laboratories at Ithaca, NY.

Job Summary:
Responsible for routine sample preparation duties inclusive of troubleshooting routine experiments and the preparation of solutions and reagents.
What You’ll be Doing:
Execute routine techniques to ensure biological samples are prepared for subsequent analysis.
Perform techniques related to assigned work areas, such as extractions from biological matrices, tissue preparation, or purification.
Perform and document testing in accordance with SOPs and applicable regulatory guidelines.
Make and record observations, perform calculations, and collect and prepare data for evaluation.
Identify and document potential performance errors or unusual results, escalating to senior lab personnel.
Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment and good housekeeping, consistent with 6S standards.
Maintain adequate inventory and notify inventory staff of supply shortages.
Perform routine data analysis as required.
What we are looking for:
Bachelor’s Degree in a Life Sciences discipline or High School Diploma with equivalent combination of education and experience.
6 months of experience in a regulated laboratory environment.
Basic knowledge of assigned technical area, systems, and procedures.
Proficiency with pipetting techniques.
Statement: Other equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
The knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for this role:
Understanding of functional area responsibilities and applicable regulatory standards, such as Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
Knowledge of laboratory safety, infection control procedures, and hazardous chemical handling.
Experience with automation or specialized laboratory equipment.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $47,600.00 - $79,300.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time).
