Within the RWS group, the IQVIA Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEA) Real World Methods and Evidence Generation (RW MEG) team is composed of around 160 highly qualified multi-disciplinary professionals from a variety of disciplines including health economics, statistics, epidemiology and data management, located across 8 geographies.

Role Overview
This is a senior manager role within the EMEA RW MEG team with a focus on our health technology assessment (HTA) and strategic offerings with a focus on the new EU Joint Clinical Assessment (JCA) And Joint Scientific Consultation offerings. The successful candidate will:
Be involved in shaping and leading the team and offerings, working closely with the IQVIA EU HTA Solutions team and EMEA RWS Center of Excellence for HTA Evidence and Strategy
Support business development, from responding to client request for proposals, working with clients to understand their overall strategic goals and milestones; and demonstrating this in a proposal with input from other IQVIA teams, where relevant
Manage the project delivery team on a range of EU HTA projects, including PICO simulations, JCA strategy development, JCA dossier development, JSC, client trainings on JCA/ JSC, co-ordination of multi-country EU HTA engagements and other strategic HTA offerings to support our clients, with senior oversight
Drive overall project strategy and quality of deliverables, including the design, structure and completion of deliverables and leading on communications
Be involved in mediating, negotiating and problem solving, within and outside of the immediate project team, as needed
Train and identify opportunities for more junior members of the team to support their career development as EU HTA specialists
Work within and across internal IQVIA teams, including technical consultants responsible for studies generating JCA evidence and complimentary functions such as Market Access, Patient-Centered Solutions, Market Access Insights, database studies and local teams across the EMEA region
Liaise with clients who will include pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical devices companies with global and regional headquarters based in the EMEA region, and occasionally their affiliate teams
Support thought leadership for JCA/ JSC topics, such as preparing conference abstracts and posters, supporting development of white papers and peer review publications on HTA and guiding interns working with the team on HTA focused thesis topics
Remain up to date on latest developments
Provide line management, depending on interests
The demand for IQVIA’s JCA/ JSC offerings has seen dramatic increase over the past two years and will continue to expand in response to the new EU JCA/ JSC processes which will come into form from January 2025. The role of the Engagement Manager is a leadership role within the EMEA RWS team and is expected to play an important role in shaping the team’s JCA/ JSC offerings. There will also be opportunities to expand your portfolio into other areas, if desired.
The role is UK or EU based with flexibility regarding location and frequency of office and home working. Please refer to our diversity and inclusion statement for further information.
The successful candidate
We are looking for a candidate with a good mix of academic and professional experience, domain experience and interpersonal skills. An ideal candidate has consultancy experience with EU HTA and or experience preparing for and supporting European reimbursement processes (HTA dossiers), early HTA scientific advice (including previous EUnetHTA 21 Joint Actions), as well as proven success in navigating HTA processes within the EMEA region in a strategic way to optimize a product’s access to markets and reimbursement.
The ideal candidate will also have a good understanding of the typical structure of our clients from the pharmaceutical industry and how to successfully navigate this structure to achieve client’s aims.

Qualifications and desired experience:
Interested in working in Consulting, in a dynamic, intellectually stimulating environment, and in developing your expertise in the healthcare industry
Postgraduate degree level education or higher from a relevant discipline (such as, but not limited to, HTA, health economics, health policy, medicine, pharmacy, epidemiology, public health)
At least 6 years of extensive relevant work experience (such as, but not limited to, pharmaceutical sector, consulting, academia)with preparing evidence submissions or early scientific advice briefing books, aligned to the processes and requirements of HTA agencies in UK, Europe or other geographies, as well as involvement in the appraisal and negotiation processes, where relevant
Deep understanding of HTA systems in Europe
Demonstrable commercial awareness and thorough understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, with an existing network of HEOR contacts highly desirable
Programme management experience in a consulting environment
Previous experience with one of the EUnetHTA Joint actions, EU JCA/ JSC projects is highly desirable
Previous experience in a consultancy environment is highly desirable
Strong written and verbal communication skills (fluency in English) with excellent interpersonal and team working skills
