Associate Partner
Client service:
- With intermittent Partner/Managing Partner input works to ‘build a business within a business’ and take ownership of this within its entirety.
- Responsible for a client portfolio or a practice domain within Arc Bio.
- Leads, builds and directs the direction and strategy of the domain or portfolio on a day to day basis.
- Hold a trusted delivery status with the Arc Bio clients at a strategic level.
- Responsible for maintaining core client relationships and accountable for the overall performance of this business.
- Develops industry leading scientific, creative and commercial strategies and programs in service of client objectives.
- Builds enduring and successful relationships with colleagues, clients and suppliers.
- Maintains high level of professionalism and competence in all client communications.
- Develops high quality business proposals existing clients or their practice domain, with a focus on market leading and creative solutions.
- Has a strong professional network that can be leveraged for business development.
- Works consistently to grow existing accounts organically through high quality work and ongoing discussions with clients.
- Brings in new opportunities for, and works to convert, new business opportunities
- Networks consistently outside of Arc Bio, attends and contributes to industry and client events and meetings representing Arc Bio as a brand within the industry.
Project Management:
- Responsible for all project management, budgetary control, manpower planning, development and implementation of projects within their portfolio.
- Ensures the team provides accurate cost estimates and controls budgets efficiently and carefully whilst keeping clients and team fully informed of eventual or possible overspends.
- Ensures finances and budgets are managed in line with agency procedures and that expenditures are explained and justified to the client before sign-off is obtained.
- Assists in setting the Arc Bio regulatory and compliance measures and minimizes risk for the business.
- Sets the highest standards with respect to quality, original, strong strategic thinking and detail accuracy at all times.
Leadership:
- Demonstrates strong leadership capability with executive presence.
- Effectively delegates and priorities for project teams, providing direction to ensure delivery whilst providing ownership.
- Demonstrates ability to develop others and provide direction and feedback tailored to the skill level of team members.
- Embraces and actions team and peer feedback as a driver for change.
- Generates buy-in, listens openly to colleagues, recognizes contributions and ensures consistency of decisions

- Managing Partners.

- Proven ability of presenting at a senior stakeholder and industry level.

- Generates intellectual property relative to Arc Bio’s core capabilities and solution offerings.
- Demonstrates the ability to influence, negotiate and overcome objections from senior stakeholders.
- Effectively adapts communication style to suit different audiences and to gain buy in.
- Demonstrates ability to develop others and provide direction and feedback tailored to skill level of team members.
- Skilled at giving upward feedback to internal and external stakeholders
- Technical ability and skills (ABC team members should be ready to communicate on these with both knowledge and authority-strong command of at least three of these is required at Associate Partner level and above)
Industry:
- Keeps up to date with factors influencing the pharma and biotech sectors (including M&A activity, pharma corporate innovation strategy and the various industry head- and tail-winds).
- Understands the mechanics underpinning industry sector activities and has a competent knowledge of the basics of business e.g. factors influencing company valuations, fundamental financial definitions and mechanisms
- Engages in industry “scanning” and maintains a strong current knowledge of industry opportunities and developments and our clients’ operating environment. Uses these findings to draw conclusions, formulate actions and exploit opportunities relevant to the Arc Bio business. Aware of new and important product launches, pivotal clinical studies, new guidance, legislation and policies of relevance.
Scientific:
- Has a strong working knowledge of the science covering our clients’ areas of focus.
- Has an ongoing commitment to deepening and expanding knowledge in modalities, modes of action, epidemiology, clinical trial design and anything else that may be relevant to strategic planning and advice, both from the point of view of the client and their competitor environment.
- In chosen areas of scientific specialism, is capable of constructively challenging client thinking on a peer-to-peer level, producing novel scientific strategic points of view to help clients view potential solutions from new angles where appropriate and useful.
- Keeps aware of latest announcements coming out of key congresses, key experts in the field, and any overall, rapidly-evolving trends (such as genomics, AI, CRISPR or the application of big data) and how these might feed into scientific strategy recommendations to the client.
Strategy:
- Can confidently discuss strategy in reference to client goals and objectives.
- Understands theoretical approaches and models used in strategy consulting.
- Able to integrate the relevant theories into a given client challenge. Is a keen student of the evolving strategic environment (including new tools and models, and their strengths and limitations). Takes increasing roles in strategic development and strategic workshop facilitation as their career develops.
Marketing and communications:
- Understands the fundamental principles of healthcare marketing and communications, with a strong capability in public relations, med ed, and scientific communications. Seeks to learn more about social, digital, advertising and brand strategy.
- Can demonstrate an understanding of the theory and application of new theories and tools in marketing (e.g. behavior change, AI/big data, new principles of neuroscience, iconography, and its impact, etc.)
- Understands means of evaluation and KPIs across marketing channels.
- Has a good grasp of not only guidelines, but also the ethics of good marketing practice in healthcare.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $153,200.00 - $284,400.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time).
